Student PIRGS Coffee Chats / Office Hours

Tuesday, March 10, 2020, 10:30am to 3:00pm

Pavement Coffee House, Smith Campus Center (1350 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge)

"The Student PIRGs' are hosting office hours for seniors to come find out about our full-time positions. The Student PIRGs are hiring Organizers for over 16 states starting in July. We are also hiring for short term Organizer positions to help run voter registration and mobilization campaigns so young people can get their voices heard on Election Day.

Our Organizers to help recruit and train the next generation of leaders. Students are often at the forefront of movements to build a better future for our country. Whether or not those students make real progress depends on whether they are organized, have the skills to be effective and have a strategic plan to get things done. The Student PIRGs have been working for more than 40 years to amplify the power of student activism, and help students make real change, right now. We all want to live meaningful lives and have a future that's greener and healthier. By recruiting, training and working alongside student activists on campaigns that get results, our organizers are helping to build that future today. Our chapters on 60 campuses provide the training, professional support and resources students need to tackle climate change, protect public health, revitalize our democracy, feed the hungry and more.

The office hours will be hosted by Leigh-Anne Cole, Student PIRGs' Deputy Director. Leigh-Anne has been working with the Student PIRGs for over 18 years and manages staff and students to expand the organization's political reach by launching new programs across the country.  In her previous role, Leigh-Anne ran the Student PIRGs' New Voters Project from 2008 to 2012, which help to register more than 400,000 young people and make 250,000 personal reminder contacts."
